ABOUT THE PROJECT

Fine-dining establishment, Vianney Massot Restaurant, was established at the end of 2018. We were privileged to have the opportunity to develop the brand with Vianney, himself, and by the end of our tenure, the restaurant was awarded 1 Star in 2019’s Michelin Guide.
While first impressions of French fine-dining might seem intimidating to some, the vision Vianney has suggests otherwise. He has always emphasized the importance of creating a welcoming environment for the restaurant. This approach gets more distinct as we proceeded with developing the creatives.

THE IDENTITY

We worked closely with Vianney for every creative asset of the restaurant, starting with the logo & identity. The first idea was kick started through a casual conversation over the phone. After a few iterations, the creative discourse led to a contemporary design with a touch of elegance without being overly extravagant. This approach set the precedence for the creatives that followed: business cards, social media visuals, advertisements, etc.

While it was imperative to have imagery that highlights the details behind French fine dining, it was just as paramount to provide a visual landscape that brings forward a welcoming environment.

PHOTOGRAPHY

As part of the branding experience, we were also involved in producing imagery that represents the restaurant in Vianney’s vision. We were tasked with conducting photography sessions that captured the restaurant interiors, the dishes, the ingredients, and the people working behind the scenes. Upon request, the photographs were developed with minimal edits, keeping in line with Vianney’s vision of capturing the essence of the restaurant as genuinely as possible.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We were also engaged to assist the restaurant with developing their social media presence from the ground up. The scope of work included the setting up of their Instagram profile and Facebook page, creative direction and content production, daily moderation and management of their social media profiles, as well as monthly reporting and analysis of the performances on these social platforms.

ADVERT AND EDITORIAL

We were excited to do our first ad for the restaurant as we were finally able to put together the different components we’d developed (brand identity, photography) for the brand thus far. Multiple concepts were shared, and were all surprisingly well received. But as only one had to be picked, the marketing team decided to run with this version shown.

We were also able to utilize our editorial skills for the restaurant as well. There were several articles and write ups in the press about Chef Vianney and the restaurant. We were asked to piece them together as an editorial spread for the restaurant’s interiors.
